What is the current state of the UK energy market?

When the energy prices sky-rocketed this year, many people were surprised by how much it's increased. The fact that there are now less companies offering their services makes things even more difficult for homeowners who need a provider they can rely on and be confident in when choosing an electricity company to buy from - especially with all these bankruptcies happening! Make sure you research carefully before making any decisions so as not get caught off guard next time round...The cost of energy has skyrocketed with the price cap being increased by some 54% which took effect on the 1st of April 2022. The fact that there is now less competition with some thirty+ energy companies going bust in 2021 and potential more to follow, it is key that you choose an energy supplier that can meet your requirements and secure competitive rates in such an unstable market.

At EE Homes we are not tied to any one energy supplier. We're not financially incentivised to point you to a particular utility company either. We simply look at the best rates in the market and recommend energy saving options to ensure you get the best possible deal out there.

What does the price cap mean to me?

Ofgem introduced the price cap in January 2019 to prevent households on default variable or standard tariffs from being charged unnecessarily expensive amounts for their energy usage. They are currently consulting with the energy industry on the future of the price cap with a view to raising it, protecting the industry at the cost of the consumer.

Where does your home’s energy go?

With the rising cost of living, coupled with record levels of inflation, now is definitely the time to see how you can cut those bills. Your energy usage could cost as much as 12% of your entire household budget.
