External and Internal Wall Insulation

Save Thousands Of Pounds Per Year On Your Energy Bills.

Funding Options and Grants for External and Internal Wall Insulation.

You will qualify for a grant for solid wall insulation. This will make your home more energy-efficient and comfortable whilst giving it a fresh new look. Choose from a variety of finishing choices, including modern render, pebble dash, and brickwork.

Adding an insulating layer to your walls, whether on the inside or outside, will prevent heat from escaping through them while keeping cold out. This will cost more than insulating a cavity wall, but the savings on your heating costs will be much greater.

What is the difference between a solid wall and a cavity wall and which type should you choose?

  • Solid walls have no gap, so they can’t be filled with cavity wall insulation.
  • Cavity walls are made of two layers with a gap or ‘cavity’ between them.

External and internal wall insulation prices vary based on a variety of factors, such as the type and size of your home. The governments "Green Homes Grant" can now be used by most homeowners. We'll walk you through the application procedure at EE Homes.

  • What type of insulation can i apply for?

We will help you access funding to cover all of, or part of the cost towards:

    • Loft Insulation
    • Cavity Wall Insulation
    • Internal Wall Insulation
    • External Wall Insulation
    • Solid Wall Insulation
    • Room In Roof Insulation
  • What is external wall insulation?

Solid walls are typically poor heat conductors and allow twice as much heat to escape as cavity walls. Internally or externally, high-density insulation material can be used to insulate solid walls.

  • How do i know if my walls qualify?

If you're having trouble determining whether or not your walls have a hollow, you can usually check by comparing the brick pattern to that of neighbouring buildings. If the wall's thickness is 260mm or more, it's likely to have a cavity.

Look at the brick pattern if the masonry is exposed. If all of the bricks are oblong and stacked end-to-end, there will probably be a cavity in the wall. The wall is likely to be solid if some of the bricks are laid with their square face facing.

If the wall is made of stone, it will almost certainly be solid.

  • How Much Can I Save?

According to the Energy Saving Trust, a typical detached house in the United Kingdom saves thousands of pounds each year.

  • How much financial help is available for external and internal wall insulation?

There are grants for external wall insulation (EWI) and internal wall insulation (IWI), but the likelihood is that they will only go part of the way.

In most situations, you will receive a grant to cover the full cost of the installation.

  • How much government funding can you get?

The Green Homes Grant initiative, which is run by the government, provides financial support for a number of insulation and low-carbon heating solutions.

If you reside in a low-income home and receive disability payments, you may be eligible for a £10,000 voucher to cover all of your costs. If you live in the United Kingdom, EE Homes may be able to assist with funding.

Cavity wall insulation is simple to install in homes with cavity walls. However, insulating solid brick or stone external walls is more difficult and hence more costly in properties with solid brick or stone exterior walls.

External walls can either be insulated on the outside (External Wall Insulation) or within (Internal Wall Insulation).

External Wall Insulation and Internal Wall Insulation may be installed using grants.
